COMPOSTABLE PACKAGING

Our packaging is an Econic®Kraft bag, made from three compostable films derived from sustainably-produced wood pulp and GM-free corn sources.

The majority of this bag is derived from renewable resources that will break down when disposed of in a home composting environment containing heat, water, oxygen, soil and micro-organisms.*

Break down times can vary due to factors such as the type of compost environment, heat levels and climate.

The packaging cannot be recycled, it must be composted. If you don’t compost at home, you can learn how online with The Compost Collection here. Or Econic accepts compostable packaging to its three New Zealand offices in Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch, click here to find out their locations. Around central Auckland Innocent Packaging and We Collective have setup collection bins for compostable materials at some cafes, learn more.

OUR TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Follow the instructions for your Wildflower Seed Bombs on the packaging. The Shady Lady mix is best suited to part sun positions and can be grown from early spring to early autumn. The Hitchhiker mix is best suited to full sun positions and can be grown early spring, or late summer to early autumn.

You can break up and scatter the balls over prepared soil or throw the bombs directly into dirt in the garden (note they sit on top of the soil, no need to dig). For best results scatter over a prepared garden bed, each bomb covers approx. ~0.3m². Always time throwing your Seed Bombs with heavy rainfall or give it a good soak. Water whilst they are getting established (a couple of weeks). The Seed Bombs need water and light to get growing.

Store in a cool, dark place before you use your Wildflower Seed Bombs. Use before the expiry date stamped on the back of the pack.

The seed bombs contain soil and clay. Open bag away from your face in a well ventilated area. Wear a mask and handle with gloves. Wash your hands after you have finished planting.
